Andy Halsall

Current Team
Chester MBB NBL

Andy originally joined the club, when Head Coach Chris Wilson took charge in 2013, as a statistician. A Basketball novice, the year spent doing stats for the BUCS team afforded Andy the time to get to grips with the nuances of the game and the players on the team. Due to time constraints for other Assistant’s, Andy stepped up to Assistant Coach the following year, being brought up the learning curve by Coach Wilson and helping steer the team to promotion, league victory and a BUCS Cup final defeat, Halsall stepping in to coach games with Niel Gillard on a couple of occasions when Wilson was unavailable.

The success continued in the following year as the team moved into the National League setup and more reliance was placed upon Andy to provide support to the players and Chris. Andy continues to pursue his coaching badges alongside commitments outside of basketball but is always available for players and acts as counsel for them as required, as well as a sounding board for the head coach.
